Hey there! This file explains how to install the voices, using either MyStuff or Patches.

*** WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN MYSTUFF AND PATCHES? ***

MyStuff is an older method of installation, and is supported by the vast majority of MKWii modpacks.

Installation with MyStuff is somewhat manual and time consuming; you'll need to do some light file editing, on your own extracted MKWii game files. It's nothing too scary, though! If you already have all the materials, I expect installation to take 5-10 minutes.

In comparison, Patches are a newer method, and will greatly simplify the install process for you. Nearly all of the work for you will be drag n’ drop, necessitating only 2-3 minutes.

However, the catch is availability. At the time of writing (May 2026), Patches are only supported by Retro Rewind and Insane Kart Wii. I expect availability will improve over time, but for now, it is very limiting. If you want to check if your modpack supports patches- check the files for a Patches folder (similar to the MyStuff folder). If one is not there, check other documentation for the pack. If you still cannot tell, it likely is not supported, and you'll need to use MyStuff instead.
Further, Patches cannot currently replace voices on the Character Select Screen.

If you don't care about Character Select voices, or just want an easy install- and your modpack supports it- you should use Patches. If you want to have everything, or only have MyStuff available to you, you should use MyStuff (unsurprisingly).

(EnmanuTM's note: this tutorial will only focus on revokart editing since i think is the most standard way to inject the voices)

*** VOICE REPLACEMENTS (MYSTUFF) ***

1: Open up your dumped MKWii game files, and navigate to Data\Files\Sound . In there you should find revo_kart.brsar- make a copy of it, and place it somewhere you'll remember.

2: Open up your new revo_kart.brsar in BrawlCrate. What you want to be looking at is the window the bottom-right of the screen. (It shows a bunch of files; the top bar has Index, Type, Name, DataOffset, etc.)

3: Let's start off with the hardest file to replace. Scroll allllll the way down to index 637 (It should be a file titled "GRP"). Double click it to open- it should open up a pop-up window with two scroll bars on the left- one for "Data" and one for "Sounds". Ignore the data one, and direct your attention to Sounds.

4: Scroll down in Sounds until you find the file Audio[69]. This is the start of Baby Luigi menu voice clips. Right click it, and hit "Replace". This will open up a file window.

5: Navigate to wherever you downloaded this mod, and look for file like Audio[141].wav, Audio[142].wav, etc. (inside the voice files folder in the 637 subfolder)
Perhaps obviously, replace Audio[69] with Audio[69].wav. Repeat steps this for Audio[70] to Audio[76], replacing them with the relevant files.

6: Once you're done changing out the menu voice clips, select "Done" in the bottom right of the window. Save your file now, just to be safe!

7: Now we're onto the easier stuff. Click on the "Name" text in the top bar of that window. This will sort all of the files by name, which will make the rest of the process easier!

8: Scroll the list about 1/3 of the way down, and look for files titled something like
GRP/VO/BLG/[WhatTheFileContainsHere]
There are a lot of these files. Not all of them need replacing- but any with a matching filename in this mod's folder does.

9: For any spots that have a matching name/index with a modded file
(for example, in revo_kart.brsar, GRP_VO_BLG_CAN_NPC has an index of 16- and should be replaced by the modded file "GRP_VO_BLG_CAN_NPC.brwsd")
Right click it, hit "Replace", and select the corresponding modded file instead. You should do this 20 times altogether, if you wish to count it. (EnmanuTM's note: be careful when replacing voice files, Before replacing a voice file, carefully check the file names; if they end in BRWSD or RBNK, always make a backup of your revokart.brsar file.)

10: And that is all! Save your file, place your newly-edited revo_kart.brsar into your MyStuff folder, and have fun :]
